Wednesday's Workout 2/29/12

March Goals
My goals are pretty simple this month. I just want to focus on a healthier diet, weight training, and yoga. Eat 1-2 cups of veggies every day. Eat 75-100g of protein every day. Lift weights 5 days a week. Work on Crow, Splits, Headstand, & Handstand at least 5 days a week. Turn off the computer for at least 1 hour a day while I’m home to focus on other things.

Ugh my back hurts.
I think it’s more from the stress (and maybe from yoga class) than it is from the car accident. I’m feeling more calm now at least. I haven’t been able to eat since though, I had a smoothie but I feel kind of nauseous now. I wish I was tired enough to sleep.

February Goals in Review
I feel like I could have done better this month. I have made progress in some areas but I should have tried harder. March will be better. February Goals: Step up my strength training. I did Tara Stiles Morning Yoga For Flexibility and all I can say is WOW! I tend to sleep on my sides so my shoulders are stiff and sore in the morning. In the standing forward bend chest opener (like the second/third pose) both my shoulders popped back into place and my chest just felt so much more open. I feel so much better!!

Pancakes!
I made some protein pancakes (with the recipe I just posted) with my new Body Fortress Whey Isolate protein powder and they were really good. The vanilla flavored protein powder made the pancakes sweet enough that I didn’t need anything on top of them except a little bit of cinnamon. Good morning.
I woke up at 6 this morning. It’s 7:15 now and I’ve already had some french toast and 1 egg for breakfast. I’m going to get ready for pilates class soon. Yesterday was rough.
Every time I try be strict about my calorie intake I seem to lose control and eat too much. I mean it was probably the same as my usual intake but I didn’t workout so it seems worse. My workout tonight was awesome! I worked my legs a little bit on the weight machines and we did like 100 squats in class. Waking up too early = protein powder research.
I woke up at 6:20 (my normal time is 7) and I was really bored so I started looking up protein powders. Body Fortress has a new one with 30g of protein for just 130 calories. Yoga class recap & my thoughts on Fear and Doubt.
I did a 1 hr 35 min Power Vinyasa & Yin Yoga class this morning. The room was packed there were over 50 people there. We began in straddle pose (a wide split) and held it for 10 minutes. Honestly it only felt like 3 minutes, the instructor talked the whole time and made it pass by quickly. Thank you everyone who gave me some vanilla protein powder recommendations! There were a lot of suggestions so it’s going to be hard to choose. I will soon be off to the yoga studio. Today I’m taking a 1 hr 45 min Power Vinyasa and Yin Yoga class. It’s going to be awesome! Challenging, but awesome.
