“if i have zero flexibility what so ever, what is the best way to go about getting it? i really want to get into yoga and be able to do all the really cool poses, but i can hardly touch my toes! (beenn doing soccer all my life and haven't kept very nimble)”
You want to be flexible? Do yoga! Few people are already flexible when they start yoga, but that’s how they GET flexible. When I started I couldn’t get my fingers to the ground when I did a standing forward bend, and now I can get my palms flat on the floor. It didn’t happen over night. I practiced. I had patience. I had determination.
Also being flexible won’t get you into all the “cool” yoga poses. It’s a lot of work, you have to practice and practice and practice. There are poses I’ve been working towards for weeks or months and I still don’t have them. You have to build strength and be patient.
To get started here are some great stretching yoga videos. Try doing one or two a day
